How does a public adjuster get paid?

Public adjusters work on contingency — we're paid a percentage of your claim rather than by the hour, and there's nothing out of pocket to get started. 
We charge 10% of the replacement cost value of your settlement. Ohio doesn't cap public adjuster fees, and rates in the industry commonly run 10% to 20%. Ours is at the low end of that. 
Our fee is set out in writing before any work begins, and your initial consultation and claim review are free. 
We don't take every claim. If we don't think we can make a meaningful difference to your settlement, we'll tell you that up front.

You’ll almost always receive a higher settlement from the insurance company if you use a public adjuster for the simple reason that your claim will be presented much more favorably and with careful attention to your policy coverage. Typically, the more detailed and complete your claim is, the higher the settlement will be. We go through all the evidence step-by-step, carefully inspect the loss site, and accurately document the damage. Studies have clearly demonstrated that most inventories compiled by insureds without the help of the public adjuster are very incomplete.

No. It would be a serious violation for any insurance company to discriminate against you in any way for exercising a right given to you by the State.
